New Grocery Store Open Door To West Vancouver Ambleside Residents

This new grocery store is located on 1650 Marine Dr. where old Safeway in West Vancouver Ambleside located.
Fresh St. Market (new store name), which is owned by H.Y. Louie—owners of London Drugs and IGA—will sell fresh produce, Ocean Wise seafood, artisan cheeses, gluten-free products, baked goods, and hard-to-find products.
In addition to being a grocery store, it will also house a deli and meals-to-go area featuring a salad bar, sandwiches, and dishes created using recipes by Vancouver chef Karen Barnaby, who previously worked at the Fish House in Stanley Park.
Many of Ambleside residents are seniors, who need an accessible food store within a short distance from their homes, are very pleased to see that new grocery store opened.
This new grocery business brings not only building upgrades to Ambleside community, but an improved parking area and public pedestrian areas enhancements, particularly along Marine Drive and 17th Street. Because this is a renovation rather than a redevelopment, no rezoning was necessary to move the project forward.
